Hey, friends. How’s your week going? Hope it’s been a good one so far. I’m super excited because this month sees the first of my room designs go live in the grandinroad website and catalog – a gorgeous blue and green living room! Each month, between now and June, I’m going to be creating a make-you-smile style room from grandinroad’s product assortment to inspire you and provide achievable yet stunning ideas for home updates. How fun is that? This is such a fun project for me and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. Creating warm, welcoming, gently colorful spaces that make you want to, well, never leave(!) is a favorite aspect of my work. If doing this also gives me the opportunity to inspire you guys to want to make similar updates to your own homes along the way then that really makes me smile!

As you guys know I get a ton of my design inspiration from travel, so my friends at grandinroad and I thought it would be fun if I designed a room inspired entirely by one of your favorite places to travel. So, we’re running a competition where you could win a $1,000 grandinroad gift card and to see a room in the catalog that’s designed by me and 100% inspired by the photo of your favorite place! All you have to do to enter is upload your favorite travel picture via this site and you could be in with a chance. I can’t wait to see your entries!

Alright, let’s dive into this blue and green living room scheme I pulled together, shall we? My thinking behind this room was how we can use beautiful design and color to put the joy in January. After all, it’s so darn cold and grey across much of the country at this time of year that most of us are hankering down and seeing our winter from the comfort of our homes. So why not do in in joyful style, right? I designed this blue and green living room to have a timeless and traditional vibe. The London sofa is an absolute knockout in this shade of Jade green. You can’t go wrong with a chesterfield when looking to create a classic ‘will-never-go-out-of-style’ kinda look. Love! One of my favorite picks for this space was the Oliver accent table because the vintage-style feathered arrow legs provide subtle detail to the room. A rich navy blue wall provides a grounding backdrop for the Jade sofa, while pattern introduced across the Jordan wing chair and Sonoma rug add depth, texture and visual interest to the living room. Finally, I added some metallic touches because I think we can all benefit from a little shimmer and shine on these dark winter days – the Gold Moon wall art is perfect for this. What’s catching your eye from this month’s blue and green living room, folks? I can’t wait to share February’s rooms with you. That’s right, there are three coming your way next month!
